William Lee Moorhouse

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, William Lee Moorhouse, age 78, of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, passed away at home surrounded by family. He was born on August 10, 1948, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Edythe (Wylam) Moorhouse.

William graduated from Wilmington Area High School and later built a working life that included his employment with US Can Company in Hubbard, Ohio, from which he retired. After retirement, he continued working as a school van driver for Krise Transportation.

William is remembered by his wife, Deborah; children, Scott (Connie) Moorhouse of New Castle, Pennsylvania; Robie (Lynn) Moorhouse of Painesville, Ohio; Mark (Casey) Hartzell, of New Castle, Pennsylvania; Laura  (Kevin) Tharp, of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania; and Gregory (Anucha) Kongthavorn, of Vallejo, California; grandchildren, Chandler (Brett) Chieze, Regan Moorhouse, Brady Moorhouse, Bryce Moorhouse, Stefan Moorhouse, Tyler Moorhouse, Conor Tharp, and Colin Tharp; and his great-granddaughters, Vienna and Aspen; twin brother, Robert Moorhouse; and his living in-laws, Diane Greer and Gary Greer.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Mary Moorhouse, and by his in-laws Hillary Greer and Eva Greer.

Beyond his work, William found enjoyment in the pursuits that shaped his days and connected him with those around him. He enjoyed hunting at the family camp in Sigel, Pennsylvania, where time with family and friends was an important part of those gatherings. He also spent time woodworking, fixing cars, doing yard work, and being with his family.

These interests reflected a life grounded in steady work, familiar places, and the company of those closest to him. Whether at the family camp, in the yard, or working with his hands, he devoted time to the activities that mattered to him.

William will be remembered with respect by those who knew him and by the many family members whose lives were part of his own. His memory remains with his family and all who shared in his life.
