William Henry Harrison Sanner IV Obituary

On Friday, November 8, 2024, William "Bill" Henry Harrison Sanner IV, age 75, a loving husband, father, and devoted family man, passed away at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle, PA. He was born in New Castle on December 30, 1948, to William Henry Harrison Sanner III and Sally (Hetzel) Sanner Lusk.

Bill is survived by, Phyllis (Barker) Sanner, his beloved wife, trusted partner, and his family's loving mother and devoted homemaker of thirty-five years; children, Wayne Daugherty, Steven (Toni) Daugherty all of New Wilmington, PA, Sunny (Les) Brown of Bessemer, PA; grandchildren, David, Caleb, Travis, Cora, Lilyan, Makayla all of New Wilmington, Dylan, Cory, Lexi, Carly, Addie, Ayla, Aviana, Maleigha all of Bessemer, PA; brother, Bill (Peggy) Farley of FL and his faithful companions, his Newfoundland dogs, Lucy and Samantha.

Besides his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his dad, Floyd Lusk; siblings, Gary Sanner, Jeanie (the late Jack) Irving, Carol (the late Sid) Putnam; nephews, Tim Sanner, John Irving; and niece, Judy Baughman.

Bill honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant working as an Aircraft Mechanic and with the Crash Recovery Crew during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty, he worked his way up from machinist to Operations Manager for seven Military Defense Manufacturing Plants across the United States. Bill also founded, owned, and operated a heavy industrial equipment company, provided rental properties and service for local businesses, as well as being involved in several community development projects in his hometown of New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Bill enjoyed personal time exploring new projects and working in his garage, barns, and wood shops. With others he found happiness by reaching out to create ventures of success and helping others succeed while pursuing lasting meaningful relationships with them through his testimony of Jesus Christ. Besides helping of other adults, Bill took personal interest in helping underprivileged children and young men develop vocational skills and gave them tools to succeed in life. With all of these accomplishments, Bill was still just a simple and humbled man; a devout Christian, a professor of Jesus Christ, a contributor to local churches, a member of First United Brethren Church, and a man of God who loved spending time with his grandchildren, wife, family and friends.

A public Prayer Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, followed by Military Honors in the Chapel at Castleview Memorial Gardens, 3010 Wilmington Rd, New Castle, PA 15105.
