A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, with family receiving friends and family at 10:00am, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church for Raymond Charles Ensley, 63, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family after a long yet courageous battle with cancer.

Ray was born on September 5, 1952 in Salem, Ohio, a son of the late Raymond and Evelyn Ensley.

Ray was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan and was elated to have been granted the opportunity to see the Cleveland Cavaliers win the NBA championship on Father’s Day.  He also enjoyed playing the drums along to his favorite band, the Ventures and watching sci-fi movies and Cleveland sports with his family.  He adored his grandpuppies, Kaylee and Lacy.

Ray is survived by his wife, the former Susan Henry, who he married October 23, 1976, his son Eric Ensley (Nancy) of Canfield and his daughter Amy Ensley of Austintown.  Ray is also survived by his brothers, Jerry Ensley (Laurie) of Columbiana, and Russ Ensley (Stephanie) of Canfield, his nephews Greg Ensley (Katie) of New Middletown, Cory Ensley (Alma) of Mexico and his nieces Carrie (Steve) Marks of Boardman and Jessica Ensley of Canfield.  Ray also leaves his grandpuppies, Kaylee and Lacy and his grandkitties, Simon and Jayne.

The family requests that any memorial contributions that would like to be made in Ray’s memory go to Hospice of the Valley.  Ray’s family would like to thank the staff of Infusion Services at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Hospice of the Valley for the kind and loving care he was shown during the last weeks of his life.
